About the Course
This training is tailored for individuals new to graphic design who want to build a solid foundation in the field. This course will cover essential concepts and skills, including color concepts, shapes and forms, typography, layout and composition, and basic graphic design tools. The course also includes hands-on projects that will help you apply these concepts in practical situations. It will also cover a career guide and how one can secure employment using the skills learned.
The training features reading and implementation assessments, where trainees submit exercises for evaluation to receive feedback for improvement or qualification then used to measure trainee comprehension. Assignments are given to trainees during and after each training component. This training will be administered in both lectured and practical lesson engagement formats based on the instruction from the trainer.
Trainee Qualification Requirements and Prerequisites
- Basic computer and related literacy: Trainees should be conversant in the fundamental use of a computer, browsing the internet, and familiarity with Google is essential.
- Good handle of the English language: Good written and spoken English skills are a basic requirement to be eligible for this training.
- Educational qualification: trainees are required to have at least completed the 10th-grade level education to be eligible for this certification.
Training Delivery
The training will be delivered using a blended class format, combining:-
- A lead instructor will introduce key concepts and best practices.
- Practical exercises to apply learnings utilizing the tools and resources availed by HaHuJobs
- Practical exercises and take-home assignments
Total Duration: 3 months with 24 Classes each with 2hr contact hours
Resources provided: Dedicated PC with connectivity and refreshments for long contact hrs
Training Level
This training is for individuals with an interest in graphics design with no prior experience in the sector and looking to explore career options in the field. All the topics of the lecture are offered at a beginner level with the necessary resources provided for beginner-level trainees.
Lesson Activities
- Interactive lectures: instructor-led lessons and topic introductions with guiding materials, with guided exploration of creative topics
- Practical assignments: Individual take-home or in-class assignments offered to trainees to solidify their understanding of the concepts and theories thought.
- Projects: Challenging trainees to develop tool-specific skills mimicking real-world industry tasks, to enable the application of their understanding.
- Qualification and skills assessments: Periodic digital assessments through the HaHuJobs assessment module to qualify trainees for certification and measure their understanding levels.

Considering, graphic design is a blend of creativity, technical skills, and effective communication. This training delivers on the introductory concept of design as a concept along with its diverse applications and components.
Design concepts: as an initial objective the training will introduce the fundamentals of design like color theory, layout, composition, layout, shapes, and forms.
Discovering graphics design tools: introducing common graphics design tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and emerging ones like Figma and Canva.
Foundational graphics design skills: basic know-how of the use of graphics design tools, navigating around their interface, and implementing beginner-level design tasks.
Graphics design carrier insights: offer career directions and employment types available in the sector of graphic design both in local as well as international contexts.
Training Subject Areas
The subject areas of this training introduce trainees to the basics of design and derivative concepts. It introduces commonly used tools in the sector and their intended use, followed by how to approach and execute graphics design projects. The training also offers career prospects and guides in the sector, each subject area is defined as follows: -
Design theory: this component introduces concepts of design to the trainees, starting with color theory and color application in digital media, it expands on the application of shapes and forms in graphics design. It also touches on typography in areas of text arrangement and font theory. It also offers a fundamental understanding of types of composition and its properties.
Graphics design tools: this component introduces raster and vector-based graphics design tools like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator respectively. It teaches methods to select suitable tools based on the property and objective of a graphics design project.
Graphics design projects: this component provides a basic understanding of digital media projects that are based on the RGB spectrum and print media designs that are intended for CMYK or physical printing purposes.
Graphics design as a carrier: This component is intended to shed light on employment types and career opportunities after completing this course. It also offers insights into areas of specialization within the sector of graphic design.
Assessment and Evaluation
Successful training thrives on challenges and practical applications of the principles taught in each session. Hence trainees will be assessed through a combination of methods, including:
- Classroom exercises: classroom exercises to execute design projects and concepts taught in class under the guidance of the trainer
- Assessments: A well-structured digital assessment with a mix of multiple-choice, and true or false questions will be used to evaluate students' understanding of graphics design concepts
- Quizzes: formal and informal pop-up quizzes to gauge knowledge acquisition.
- Assignments: Practical assignments to explore existing implementation as case studies and execute instruction-based projects.
- Followups: feedback and follow-ups will be one of the main aspects of the training to help trainees improve their understanding and validate a solid grasp of what is being taught.
