About this Role

Job Summary:

  • The Finance Officer will manage the finance and administration unit in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with organizational and donor financial policies. The position requires strong accounting knowledge and practical experience with accounting software systems 

    Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation of all financial transactions.

  • Record daily financial transactions using accounting software.

  • Preparing financial reports, budgets, and financial statements.

  • Financial management and monitoring budget utilization.

  • Prepare payment vouchers, payroll, tax declaration & ensure proper documentation.

  • Manage bank reconciliation and monthly closing of accounts.

  • Maintain proper filing systems for financial documents.

  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial procedures & government, and donor requirements.

  • Support internal and external audit processes.

  • Support the program team

    Employment Type: One-year contract with possibility of extension depending on performance and availability of funds

    Job Requirements

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance & minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in finance or accounting. 

  • Demonstrated experience using accounting software (such as Peachtree).

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Good computer skills, particularly MS Excel and financial software.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in NGOs or development organizations.

  • Familiarity with donor financial management procedures.

  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
